Hi. My names natalie and im 19. I have been chatting to another 19 year old online recently and i think it really helps to chat to someone in the same kind of situation as you. I mean its great to chat to older more experienced people but when its someone your age its easier to relate to each other. Anyway we were talking and thought it would be great to meet more younger people. Mayby to chat in the chatroom at around the same time or on msn. Like in a big group. Its just an idea.

hey i know exactly what your talking about. Its like everyone that I talk to, does not understand me, AT ALL! My mom keeps telling me that im fine and that my face is getting better and that I should just deal with it. I feel like im going to have a nercous breakdown when I hear that. She doesnt know what I am going through and what I have gone through for the past 4 years. When did you get diagnosed and what type do you have?

Hey Katie and Nat...I'm also 21, and I can relate. My parents have been giving me a hard time about having to drop a few classes this semester because I've been sick (and a little depressed about my disease) recently, and sometimes I just want to hang up on them when they call to gripe about the fact that I'm going to need at least 1 extra semester to graduate. Plenty of people don't finish college in 4 years, so I thought I was doing ok considering the odds I've had against me, but they still act so disappointed sometimes.

I think we should def all chat sometime. I've never met anyone who was close to my age who has lupus, let alone talked to someone. I feel like such an old lady sometimes when the only person who can relate to half of what I feel is my grandmother!

I'm 19 and I was diagnosed with Lupus a lttle over a year ago (in the middle of my senior year) it would be really great to talk with someone that knows exactly what I'm going through. I've never really had a dicussion with anybody else with Lupus and think it would be great to see what others are going though.

hei everyone... i am jane and i am from the philippines and i was just diagnosed with LUPUS two weeks ago... um, i think it would be a REALLY nice idea that we would form a group on YIM or MSN or any of it, and set scheds where and when we can talk, coz i really know wat ur feeling... i mean, u know EXACTLY wat im feelin...

the "appearance issue" is really devastating for us, i mean about the prednisone and how its makin us balloooon just lyk that!! and school too... uh, its hard coping with an illness lyk this, especially when were still this young, we should be doing a lot of crazy and candid stuff lyk what normal teenagers do...

im not saying that we should be insecure to normal people, who can do wat they lyk, go to school take advantage of the sun, having fun outdoors, talkin and going out with friends, all im saying is, that they are all taking those things for granted, if only we were given the chance to move around just lyk them and have fun the same way they do... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cloud9.gif

oh well, we gotta accept it... and im accepting it... and i got all the support i need from here and my family and my bf of course... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cloud9.gif x style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif

so... we all gotta stick together and voice out to everybody that were still beautiful people and normal too!

well wat do u know, we myt be enjoying more things than wat normal people are... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif
