Hi Trsh,

I was just talking to the Dermatologist about that very thing today. She said to ask the pharmasist for a good medicated shampoo that they keep behind the counter. It was called DHS zinc shampoo. I am going to try it and see if it helps me, you might want to do the same.

Hope this helps us both style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/goodvibes.gif

Best wishes for a speedy solution to our problem.

I have the itching without the dandruff. Often wonder if mine is due to hair colouring .. I use Loreal wash out ones every few weeks .. there again .. I get hives too on my legs, back, arms .. in fact all over .. maybe related??

It is funny you ask this.

The back of my head only always itches. My hubby says I have bugs. I made him look for bugs too. I don't like bugs very much. He made me panic. No bugs, no scalp peeling, not red. Just itches.

Interestingly, the one and only time I tried hormone relacement for about two months .. it made my scalp itch more than ever .. it was so intense ... and scratching just made it burn and itch even more whilst I was actually scratching it ... so maybe hormones play a part. I've always felt I'm allergic to my hormones lol

I was just wondering today why my scalp was itching so badly. Haven't had the dandruff yet, but itchy, itchy. I will try the shampoo as well.

Hi trsh,

my scalp started itching when i started taking plaquenil.. I also noticed less hair falling out. I wash my hair with Pantene prov and condition with it's conditioner as well.. I add a lil extra virgin olive oil to the conditioner and it helps with the itching..

Good Luck

I get the itchies too. Mostly on the back of my head. Gets me real paranoid at work! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/umm.gif I don't want everyone seeing my digging away!

Vonda.....When I used to use Pantene, it would make my hair fall out too! Also, 2 of my nieces and a friend at work had the same problem with Pantene. Smells so good...but, oh well, I had to switch! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/aww.gif

My 16 year old son, whom I suspect might be showing early signs of lupus (God forbid he has it!) started using Pert anti-dandruf shampoo and it worked and didn't dry his hair out. His hair is kind of long and it looks really healthy!

That is interesting...###scratch ### that maybe the Plaquenil does do this and no one has reported it. ##scratch ### scratch #### I think maybe that is when it started with me... ### scratch ####
