Hello, I'm 31 years old and just diagnosed with Fibro. But symptons seem more like Lupus. Have tested posititive for ANA and AntiCardiolipin antibodies. I get weird rashes, joint pain, fatigue, headaches and mind fogs.

I was wondering if anyone else has weird sweating attacks. When I get out of the shower ( and it's not super hot water ) I am so hot and sweaty for so long. I usually have to sit down till I cool off. Also some times I get hot while I'm out shopping, I start to sweat and my skin ( arms & hands ) turn red and blotchy.
Sometimes I think I am having a panic attack. I don't really like going to the mall by myself. ( I feel like I am going crazy, never told anyone this before) style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif Thanks For listening, Jen

Hello Again, I also wanted to ask if anyone ever gets "pins and needles" in there tongue? I get this every once in a while. Mabey three times a week. It also happens in my fingers and feet.

Hi Jen,

I have SLE not fibro but i suffer with sweating attacks to the point that it can get really embarrassing!

I have recently been learning to drive and if one of these sweating do's happened my hands would become so wet that i could not grip the stearing wheel also i would be conscious of leaving a wet seat behind me style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif

Things are not too bad since my disease is more undercontrol.

I dont suffer with pins and needles though. I really think thats one for your specialist to look at... are you taking any meds that could cause this?

Hi Jen,
I'm 44, I have scle, fibro, degenerative disk disease, etc. I have some pretty embarrassing anxiety attacks at times. I can feel my blood pressure go up, and the sweats come. I literally drip right down my face, shirt and bra are drenched, and whatever hair do I had is now history. I turn bright red. I'm not sure what causes this. Maybe stress. I also kind of hyperventalate. This is no picnic when it happens in public. I've had it happen at my kids school, during a parent helper orientation meeting. Very embarrassing! :oops:Fortunately I've calmed down so I still go in and help, without much problem. My doctor says it could be early menopause. I've also had the pins and needles thing. For me it usually means a pinched nerve. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wavey.gif Hope yours gets better soon.

Dear Jen

About 6 wks ago I had a severe reaction to some eye drops and had to be rushed to hospital by ambulance but for the next 6 days I had exactly what you discribe I could be out shopping or at home watching tv and it would happen I would come over all hot and the my hands and legs would be covered with a rash and my face would be bright red it felt like my blood was boiling. I returned to my gp and he put me on a course of pred for 10 days and now i feel fine again. Also the pins and needles in your tongue thing I have had that for years it comes and goes and people think I am mad when I say about it I also get pins and needles in my hands and feet on occasions. I would appreciate any feed back of yours from docs as mine is at a loss. I am waiting to go back to St Thomas's as I havent been there since my first attack to see what they say.

Hope you feel better soon

I, too, have attacks of sweating...but I didn't mention it to my GP thinking it was just menopausal...guess it's something I should include with my other symptoms.

The more research I do the more I find out.....and I don't feel so alone anymore.
Hugs
Vicki
