Sorry for the graphic topic, but I wanted to know, does anyone else get this? I've read it can be caused by NSAIDs but I only seem to get it from time to time, for a couple days and then it doesnt come back for a while. I think the last time I had it was in October, but now its back!
So, I know its better to be safe than sorry, but just wondering if anyone else had experienced this from either their meds or Lupus related inflammation.
Love,

Hi there.
Any blood in the stool should be reported to the doctor and checked out. It could be for many reasons, yes the NSAID can be one, but you are better to call the doctor and find out and get it checked out.
I would not wait.
I hope you have good results.

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wavey.gif Hi Chal, Yes, absoutly get it checked out a.s.a.p.. nsaids are famous for causing ulcers, but it may not be that. On the evening news, this month, certain pharmacy's are giving away Occult Blood Tests, these
are easy and you can do them in the privacy of your own home. If you can't find one, call your dr. and ask if you can come down and pick one up. When it is done, you just hand it in, and when he gets the results, he will call you. Blood in the stool is deffinately not ever a good sign, of anything, for anybody. So please do this and do it like now!!!!! This is no time to fool around. Let us know how it goes, we'll be here.
Be well and keep posting. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif

It's worrying I know, but there's no point speculating and yes many people suffer this from time time with lupus or not.
Here's a previous thread on the topic ( detailed !)

I hope you get some reassurance soon
Bye for now

"Ulcerative Colitis (UC)" can be a cause of "Blood in stool".
UC is an autoimmune condition and can be part of Lupus.
It can be treated with an enteric coated NSAID called "ASACOL".
