Back from rheumy appt

I just wanted to thank everyone for urging me to call the rheumy.

Apparently he thinks the symptoms of my latest flare are serious too, because he's putting me in the hospital for 3 or 4 days. (I go in tomorrow afternoon, after all the needed paperwork is ready.) He plans to give me Solumedrol in the hospital and run a ton of tests to see what else is going wrong in my messed up lupie body.

I think he just didn't know what else to do to help me and so sent me to the hospital. That's what it sounded like. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif I asked if the Solumedrol could be given outside a hospital, as he usually does...he said it could, but that it would be "risky" given what else I was telling him about. (Risk of what, I've no idea.)

I have family members lined up to take care of my son so DH can work. Geez, I am going to miss the little one. He's so cute tonight it breaks my heart to put him down...but you will all understand how tired I am right now. Probably just as well I am not holding him.

Sorry to hear about your hospital stay but really, really glad that someone is looking after you properly.
I hope your stay is as comfortable as possible and that you get the treatment you need to feel good again.
It is very hard to be parted from our little ones but you will get through it knowing that at the other end there is treatment that will help. It is hard coping with a new baby without having to cope with an illness so you need the best care possible in order to give your little son the best care he deserves.
We will all miss you but thinking about you every day.
The very best of luck and do let us know when you are back on the boards

I think he's definitely doing the right thing by you and I'm glad he's going to investigate and find out exactly whats going on. In your situation it should be done given the symptoms you had style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/foryou.gif

Well, I am finally home from the hospital after a 13 day stay, which included 4 days of plasma pheresis. I was on heparin and coumadin both, so I'm a mass of bruises. However, I am gradually resuming care of the little one with the help of very supportive family. (Staying at someone else's house for a few days to make the transition.) I have never been so happy to see the outside world. Thought you all deserved an update.

I am so happy that you went to the rheumy... Hopefully they can start treating you in the proper way. Hospital stays aren't all that fun, but make the most of it. Rest up and please let us know what your results are.

I'm so glad you have people there to help you, you will need to take it easy and not jump straight back into normal regime. Your body needs rest after this ordeal and oh boy I know the feeling of finally getting out of that "H" place style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif but take it easy.

I hope that things improve from now on for you and that this is just a little glitch in the road. How is that little guy of yours, I bet he's soooooooooo glad to have his Mum back style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif and I bet they spoiled him rotten too style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif
