Firstly I want to say thank you to all who gave me advice last week I was feeling so lost and so fed up being sick all the time. I got my blood results yesterday and a letter to see a rhuemy.
ESR 20
WCC 13
TSH 25
T4 10
According to my letter my gp suggests sjorgrens.
I have been constantly sick since my daughter was born 11 yars ago plus I had burst appdendix while I was pg with her.I cant visit people in hospital bcause sure enough the next day I will have picked up some virus, the worst being mumps after a visit to my sister in law.
Since christmas I have been feeling bad with aches and pains everywhere. Im so happy i have some idea what is going on in my body now and maybe family and friends will realise Im not imaging all these symptoms.
Your support has given me the strenght I needed style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Thanx.gif

Hi LIsa.
I am glad that you found out what the problem is. Does this mean you are going to start some treatment and/or go the rhemotologist? I think that would be a good start.
Let us know.
Hope you feel better soon.

Lisa,
I'm glad to hear that you are finally starting to get answers. Maybe now they can start some sort of treatment for you to ease some of your symptoms. Waiting is the hardest part because you just don't know how much you should worry, because you don't know exactly what is going on in your body.
Take care of yourself and keep posting and giving us updates! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wavey.gif Hi Lisa, well it sounds like you have made the first step towards getting
a diagnosis. If that was what your GP suspects, then now, I would ask him for
a referral to be seen by a Rheumatologist, that will be the dr. that will continue
to examine and diagnose you and put you on your meds and follow your
progress. I truly hope all goes well for you. keep in touch.
Be well and keep posting. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif

Yay Lisa!
You sound so much more empowered this week. Really glad that you have those blood results and that letter for the rheumy. Will you be going to Tallaght Hospital?
Dont forget to keep a diary of your symptoms from here on. This will be really important for the rheumy appointment and a good bit of advice that I was given on this site was to mark down on a scale of 1-10 the level of pain I was experiencing with any symptoms.
Write everything down! Cant stress that enough. The amount of things that I thought were unrelated that I never bothered to tell anyone!...Geesh!
In the meantime if you want to pm me for any advice or whatever thats no problem.
Luv n stuff
Joan

Hi Lisa,
I'm glad you are going to see a Rheumy.
Did you mean to type your TSH was 2.5 not 25? Was this a recent test and are you on any meds for your thyroid? I know from previous posts you are seeing an Endocrinologist at the end of May. If you arent on meds yet and your level is 25 then your must be feeling absolutely dreadful (((((((Lisa)))))) If thats the case I'd be trying to hurry the appointment up with the endo, a thyroid level of 25 means you should be seen sooner rather than later I'd imagine. If you have any problems or chest pain etc. get thyself to ER, thyroid at that level can cause havoc with your body, muscles, heart etc.

Hi everyone thanks yet again for your support.
My gp is on holidays so he just left the letter and a note to say I was to get a copy of my bloods. The doctor that covers while hes away is pretty usless .
No lily I didnt make a mistake my Tsh is 25 it has doubled since november. My T4 was fine then now its down to 10. Im on 100 mcg of eltroxin. I have lost track of the amount of times I rang my endo about this app and I get no where I even spoke to one of his team they didnt seem to be to concerned. Maybe I should try again.
I thought yesterday I would be in the er I was in so much pain, Icried myself to sleep but woke feeling a bit better. One day at at a time!
Hi joan I going to ring Tallaght today Dr Kane is a new doctor there and I was told I could be waiting a while for an app but il ring and see what they say. I have wrote everything down for the last week and joan im not joking I have a page and half of symptoms and thats what hits me every day not just once in a blue moon!
Thanks again for the offer its so comforting to know there is someone out there that knows what im talking about. I hope your doing ok!
I will let you know how I get on when I ring Tallaght

Hi Lisa
Im doing good thanks. Sorry you feeling so horrible.
I would be surprised if Dr. Kane's department were able to give you any advice because they havent actually seen you yet. Lets hope you can get a very quick referral because of your blood levels and symptoms.
When you ring the hospital ask if the rheumatology dept has a fax or email (very rarely will consultants here give you an email address though). I think its always useful to have a way of contacting them in writing should you need it in the future.
Once you get into the system you should be able to ring and ask to be put through to Dr. Kane or a member of his team if you have any concerns in between appointments. I have had reason to do it twice and they did phone me back with an answer to my questions.
However your current problem is that you are not yet in the system so therefore I firmly believe the onus is on your GP to cover the gap so to speak. I would hound that GP to do something about the thyroid. Maybe you could ask him what repercussions there would be from consistent high, poorly medicated, thryoid levels? See if he can answer. You can go up to 200mg of Eltroxin by the way.
Dont give up. Its your body - not his.
Hang in there Lisa

Joan I rang Tallaght re. Dr Kane I had to drop my letter in to them and an app will be made and posted out to me fairly shorty(their words not mine)
I also spoke to one of my endo team and explained about the tsh and how I was feeling they told me to up eltroxin to 150 and they will wait and see me 31 of May.
Im just feeling so d*#n sorry for myself, Im to sore and tired to move and speak. Nobody here has a clue. Sorry for the moan Im just having a really bad day today.
Hugs
Lisa
