went to hospital on monday this week, not good news, my bloods results where all over the place, got to see rhuemy doctor but not sure when, got told to stop taking medications as they need to do a blood test on 18th april (on the ward), he said that the meds will intefer with true results(cant remeber the name of test tho) right now i am feeling like giving up the pain is unbearable constantly in tears, feeling really really low, they, so until i have to suffer, told not to go back to work til i have been back to see him now that not til july, yesterday had no energy to prepare tea, so hubby got take away in for us (ah bless him) anything for easy life, they say you know who your true friends are at a time like this and you certainly do, i have people calling everyday to see if they can do anything for me.
thank you for listening to me
wishing you all best wishes

Hi Dee.

Sorry you are feeling down at the moment. The 18th will come soon. Hold on until then. Did they say you can take something for your pain. Check with them. Tell them you are in a lot of pain. I am wondering what test they are doing that you had to get off your meds. Try to find that out as well.

You are very lucky to have people calling you and you need to say "yes" to them too. Don't be afraid to admit that you need some help, even some company. If you are like me, I say I am ok, thanks anyway.

Although I have found out that my friends are not really there for me either. Nor family. Just hubby.

Try to put some heat on your painful areas. That helps me a lot.

Hope you feel better and find some answers here.

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wavey.gif Hi Dee, I am so sorry for the severe pain that you must be in. I could
not tell from the way you worded it, who told you to go off your meds? It
sounded like it was not your Rheumy. If it wasn't him, then the concequences
could be awful. I would call Your Rheumy and tell him what you were told to do,
and see if he agrees and if it is alright with him. Going off some meds instantly
can be trouble , if it is the right med. Be safe, and call your Rheumy.

Be well and keep posting. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif

Hi Dee style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif
Really sorry you are going through this. I know you were at a specialist on Monday. I thought it was a rheumatologist? No?
Have they taken you off the Plaquenil? Cant understand that.
I agree with the other posts. Can you ring the rheumatology dept and explain what is going on. If you are in so much pain, there has to be something for pain they can give you which will not interfere with blood results.
So glad you have a lovely hubby and such good friends.
Please ring them.
Luv n stuff
Joan

Dee I'm very sorry for the awful time you are having.

It's not clear to me why you should be off ALL meds. The 18th isn't far off but I expect it seems like an eternity. Check out possible ways of reducing pain , like heat applications. Maybe you can check it they really meant all.

I very much hope you are not really going to have to wait until July to see your rheumy ! That would be outrageous. make as much of a stink as you can Dee - more strength to your elbow.

When you are at the doc's, write down the tests that they are doing or ask the doc to write it for you so you can get a better understanding what's going on

All the best - I'll be keeping you in my thoughts
