Hi you all.
I recently been told that my Anti-DNA is <500 by my Dr and he told me the normal range is about <10. Does anyone here knows anything about Anti-DNA stuffs? Also, does any medication can help me out with this problem? Thanks....

Hello AF1 - or are you AF1's girlfriend who has recently been diagnosed with SLE ? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

A lot of people with lupus have anti ds DNA antibodies. Their presence is important for diagnosis because they are only found in SLE, and, less often, a couple of other connective tissue diseases.

So if the right sort of symptoms are present, whatever they might be, finding these antibodies will confirm the diagnosis. It's the disease that's treated not the antibodies themselves.

Some people have antibodies but don't have disease symptoms so they don't get treated for disease.

Lupus treatment depends on how the lupus is affecting the person.

Read up about lupus, diagnosis, symptoms and treatments on the info section of this site or the lupus Foundation of America. Find out how lupus is affecting you by getting your blood test results and learning to understand them. We'll help you

Good Luck

Bye for now.
