A bath does the same thing to me. I have a stool that I sit on in the shower now. The shower head can come off its hook so I can rinse off really well if I am unable to stand. Just rinsing my face will make my eyes all irritated and red. Even with the drops it takes an hour or so to clear up. Now i use drops beforehand and it doesn't seem as bad. I think maybe my eyes are just so dry that any contact with the lid causes irritation. As for the hair, I think most of us have that problem. Got so bad I had to cut it. There are some hair traps you can buy so you don't clog the drain.

Take care,
Lazylegs

HI CANN'T PUT STOOL IN MINE AS SHOWER IS OVER THE BATH,WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IF IT WASN'T YES THATS WHATS UP WITH MY EYES AS IF THE EYE LIDS ARE WRIPPING MY SKIN ON MY EYES IT GETS THAT BAD I'M ALWAYS USEING DROPS BEFORE BATH BUT AS SOON AS WATER TUCHES THEM THEY JUST DRY UP SO I HAVE TO HAVE HUBBY THERE WHEN I GET OUT OF THE BATH.

GOD KNOWS WHAT HE IS THINKING THOUGHT HE HAD MARRIED A YOUNGER WOMAN ENDED UP WITH SOMEONE 39 GOING ON 90.

Hi suzi i feel exactly the same as that just cleaning my teeth when i have a bath or shower i get so hot and bothered i feel like i need another one ha ha i have difinately got the hair thing going on too style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif The one thing that really wears me out is getting dried afterwards i normally lay on the bed wrapped up in a towelling wrobe till i get my breath back but my top tip is get the hairdryer on a cool setting and dry yourself that way it does,nt take as much effort and takes about 3 mins style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/halo.gif

take care of yourself

my sister had one we got from home health.
but with brain cancer she was scared to use
it.
if you have home health they are supose to
get these things for you. all we did was have her
doctor call them.

my husband took our tub out for me, and put a
shower stall in that has a seat built in.

LOL LOL GUESS WHAT my back side is to big for it.
the seat not the shower

he loves it as much as i do, and the grandson's live
in the shower. they would sit there all day if the
water stayed hot.

or as you are in the UK ask your GP to refer to an Occupational Therapist, they will come and see you and see what equipment you need to help you around your home, you will be surprised as to what they can give you to make your life alot easier. Or if not ring social services and see if they can ask for an OT to come and visit you.

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Thanx.gif Hi thanks i will see my G.P and see if he can get something for me like i said the social services was not very nice with my dad he was paralised for 10 years bfore passing away due to another brainstem stroke,we had to fight for his and we also tried to get a shower fitted due to him being unable to finding it hard to get in bath and my sister having to do him and her back wasn't to good, but they refused.
so i think i will stay away from them.Although we pay our tax and national insurance we are made to feel like we are begging.
But thanks will ask if doctor can refure me there.

Hello i'm netty,

I too find it harder and harder to bathe, getting in and out of the bath is hard and the whole process of washing myself and my hair totally exhausts me.
I have found on days i go to work i cannot bath in the morning but must do so at night time so i can recover.

I loose alot of hair and my partner complains about it being everywhere. Clogs up hoover and is even in the drier! Good job i have lots, my hair is long. I have been thinking about getting it cut but it makes me feel good to see it shining, kind of my last bit of femminity(sorry spelling bad!) something to feel good about myself.

Bathing stool sure sounds as though it could help you alot so i hope your GP can come through for you! I'm sorry that you have had such a bad experience with social services i too feel they seem to make things worse rather than better in certain circumstances and aim to stay well clear of them!

Good luck and try to rest!!!

xxxxxx

hi netty yes i know how you feel about your hair mine is shoulder length but very thin so when its down you can see my scalp but don't want it any shorter, i know this may sound bad but only yesterday my husband made tea but i only went by the table to get sauce and i must have been sheading hair as it was on his plate felt so bad.

well now i have made you feel sick sorry but it is part of the illness the hair thing.

thanks for your post bye for now susanx style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Thanx.gif
