style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif I have been ill with Lupus for many years and have just recently been dx'd. All these flares are getting worse and have effected my sex drive. I could never get enough and now I don't want any at all and don't even desire any. Between the pain and all I am too tired and hurt too bad and the lack of the drive. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/aww.gif
I just want to know if there is any hope of it coming back to me. I had a lust once and want it back. I have lost what was special to me and that is my relationship with my husband. This disease has caused a divorce and bad feelings which I want to be different. Is there any hope. Please Please give me hope. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whisper.gif

my body wouldnt allow it to happen.
the last few times i did have sex i
wound up with awful infections, and
couldnt walk for weeks.
not worth the effort to try for me.
Lupus robs us of every thing.

Please don't give up too soon on this important part of your life!
I certainly understand this having experienced it myself, but did my best to make sure that this was NOT taken away, too.
If infection is a problem, that generally means that lubrication was insufficient and tearing and injury to the delicate mucous membranes is involved. That can be corrected if you have an understanding gyno doc that you are willing to talk to about the problem.
Many times, the symptoms we experience are what make us not want to even try. That's when an appointment with your doctor, especially your pain specialist if you have one, is vitally important. You need to lay out the situation and say that you don't want that part of your life to come to an end.
Pain specialists are about making our lives better and are more than willing most of the time to work with you on a plan for whatever symptoms are interfering with quality of life.
