Thank's for your reply Teri
The letter(I asked for a copy)also said ANTIPHOSPHOLIPID ANTIBODIES carried out on 07/04 were neg
anticardiolipins ..negative 01/05 lupus anticoaguiant..ve+
Repeat antiphospholipid antibodies 12/05 negative...
So that would suggest to me that i have not got aps or am I reading it wrong.. I have read on other post's that the blood test's should be done six weeks apart mine are always six months ...am I getting a true result???

Hi Sue,
Did your doctor talk to you about these results? They really shoud have, and I'd ring them to do so if you haven''t got an appointment soon.
From what you've written, it looks like your anticardiolopin antibodies are negative but your lupus anticoagulant is positive.
+ve is standard shorthand for positive.
The lupus anticoagulant is normally reported as positive or negative, so this makes sense.
Has this been done once or twice?
If it has been twice positive AND you have had clinical clotting events (like a DVT, stroke, recurrent miscarriages or stillbirth), then you meet the criteria for APS.
Whether or not you have had any clinical symptoms, I think your doctor should be discussing this rsult with you and giving their opinion about its significance and what they want to do about it.
Chase it up....

Hi Cath,
Thankyou for your reply I have no other results, but when I go to St Thomas's in June I will ask for a copy of all test results and ask her to go through it with me.
I have had one miscarriage, no clots that I know of but I do bruise very easy. My mum has aps, mini strokes, ect.
Thanks again,
