Hello, here from sunny California.....Summer is fast approaching. I am curious about spray on tans. I normally enjoy the sun while in the yard, my kids swim practice, and sporting activities. Now that I have been Lupus-fide all that must come to an end! I would like to have a bit of color to my close-to-olive colored skin I have already...Any Suggestions? Anyone know much about the SPRAY-ON TAN? Thanks, kimb

I have never tried the spray on tans just because I think they are rather expensive and then there is the maintence of the tan. Of course tanning beds, etc are out. I have been using Jergens Natural Glow daily mositurizer. I use it daily and it has a subtle tanning beonzer or whatever and itbuilds up so to speak and gives your skin a nice natural look. I have a friend that uses it as well and she loves it too. It is very reasonable and most pharmacys and discount stores carry it.

Hi Kimb,
It's funny that you posted this. I just got my hair dyed BLONDE. My husband requested it. Our 10th anniversary is coming up and we are going away for a few days. I've had my hair weaved before but never went all blonde. I looked like a blotchy ghost. It was horrible. As soon as I got home I applied Avons version of sunless tanning on my face and neck. I love it. I actually look alive again. My husband loves the hair and I figured it's falling out anyway, I might as well have a little fun while I still have some. I live in CA too, and it's uncomfortable being this white around here.
Take care,
Pam

Yea, I'm looking great in my new hair, tan/red face, and my kneehigh support hose. Summer, here I come!

spray on tan is the way to go, would recommend going to a beauty salon/therapist & getting them to do it for you, i had a bash at the booth one & was very streaky after altough not bad for a first attempt at fake tanning, i'll be going to the local beauty place next month. makes you feel so much better, anything other than milk bottle white is good for me!

Well, I have tried them all. The spray ons, the lotions, the booth. I just do not have the energy anymore to go for the whole gammit. I like the Jergans Natural Glow, use it after the shower and it gives you a little color and it's easy to apply and I have not had any problem with streaking.

Good luck on the tan quest!!!!

hi There,

My take on all this... with the tanning lotion... if this make you feel better about yourself... You might feel better overall....
I had a similar experience recently.. A while back say two years ago my husband asked to to stop dying my hair.. We read an article in the paper directing non hodgkins lymphoma with hair dye...if anyone knows me they know I have this.... so I said yes I would do it... Well at first I was ok with it,,, But then I hated it and I have had a few bad health patches in the last while.... Well it got to the point I would not look at myself in a mirror... six weeks ago I died my hair back to my color I had it before... And Boy do I feel good.... and of course mental and physical are connected.... Even if it is a little.... better than nothing...
Well that is my story....

Love Penny

I had the "Mystic Tan" once... were you stand there and the machine spary's it all over you. I honestly thought it was a waste of money. You don't get any streaks but the tan/spary comes off in 2-3 days. $25 bucks down the drain, for real.
I think the creams would be cheaper though I have never tried them.

I have used the tanning creams before but the last couple years I seem to get a rash on my legs when I use them. Has anyone experienced this?

Just wanted to add my two cents on the Jergen's Natural Glow...I LOVE it! I just went away to Florida for a week and used it...everyone at work when I got back commented on my "tan." Little did they know I spent the whole vacation under umbrellas and hats! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I have used Jergens Natural Glow as well.
I also have very, very white legs. I live in Florida and will be wearing shorts much more. I tried Neutrogena Build a Tan on my legs and was very pleased with the results. On me, it didn't have the "orange" look from fake tans of the past. Just rub in on like lotion. The more application, the deeper the "tan". I definitely don't feel as self conscious, and it hides some of the morphea on my right leg as well.

Since we're on the topic... just wanted to add that I use Neutrogena's new sunless tanner / daily moisturizer "Summer Glow" - it's similar to the Jergens, but it has SPF 20 as well. I'm not as sensitive to the sun as many of you are, so the SPF might not be high enough for some.

I love it though - it camoflauges the stretch marks a bit, gives me a bit of colour, and has some sun protection too!
