View Full Version : blood vessels on face

This is a new one for me. I am really, really fair skinned (think fish face). Over the past few years I have increasing numbers of tiny blood vessels visible on my chin and around my mouth.
A couple weeks ago one of the little vessels next to my mouth began to itch like mad and really sort of collapsed. It wouldn't have been anything at all, but it took the skin with it. I now have a deep "wrinkle" or line or trench where that tiny, mostly unnoticible little blood vessel was. And it happened again last night. On my chin. The thing itched like crazy and then apparently sunk in deep and took the skin with it.
Anybody got a solution? If I go have these veins "zapped" will the skin above them fill back in? Should I go find a dr. to zap all the blood vessels in my face before they fall in?????
Vainly, veinly, in vain (I'm afraid)

hi Sunny,
Wow... I dont know what to say to you.... I havn't experienced anything like that... I know I would get this checked out with your doctor and he can refer you to someone that can help in this area....
I get rashes on my face and they are itchy but nothing like that happens to me...I hope someone else can help you more than I can.... Good luck to you...
Take care of yourself.
Love Penny

I would say if it were me, I would definitely go the doctors about it. I am not sure if a vascular doctor or a dermatologist, but worth finding out what doctor to see.
Maybe some aloe cream on it would help?
I think the bursting vessels is what needs the attention.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but get it checked out and let us know the outcome.
good luck

Hi Sunny,
I have also got broken capilleries over my nose and cheeks and chin. Been thinkng about laser treatment even though it is expensive. Anyone any thoughts about this? I am not fair skinned, but they are really embarressing. Anyone got any tips on make-up to hide marks. I have spent a fortune on various make-ups but nothing is completely satisfactory.
Don't think I am vain but us girls like to look our best, don't we? I never had to wear foundation as I had a lovely skin but now I rarely go out without it.
Remarried six years ago (toy boy) and I think he wonders what the heck he has landed himself with. I seem to have one sympton after another and still struggling for a firm diagnosis.
Thank goodness for this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers,
Mazzy

Sunny this sounds so distressing - is it a sort of ulceration in effect. Do you mean these lines are raw ?
Maybe tee tree oil would help with healing and keeping them infection free. Have you used lots of steroid creams ?
I have had laser treatment to burn up facial capillaries distended from lupus , like spider veins. I know it has to be done by an expert who knows about lupus etc.
