Hey!!! Hope everyone is doing well!!! I have one small problem. I have the common Lupus rash all over my upper arms. It gets better ot worse depending on either my monthly cycles or flare ups. I went to the Dermo A few months ago, and she gave me some retena to put on it...It hasen't worked. I'm in a wedding in a month and I have to find a way to get rid of it. Does anyone know of a good creme? I'm going back to the dermo. next week. If any of you have an idea let me know PLEASE!!!! Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!! Thanks!

Hi Andrea, I have the Rash too style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif I use a steroid cream called Locoid lipocream. Remember...NO SUN! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/umm.gif Lots of sun screen, a high factor. Go back to your dermy if possible. There are a number of creams and ointments you can use.
Be well,

I have had a sudden flash of enlightenment wondering if you mean a retinoid cream.
If so I have never heard of this being used for lupus skin, which doesn't mean it never is, but I rather think I would have heard of it if it is. What's more, years ago I saw the doctor who was instrumental in developing these creams and was categorically told they weren't suitable for lupus skin. They are designed to reduce the effects of aging and wrinkles. They increase photosensitivity so great care needs to be taken when they are used.
See

The retinoid oral meds as used for acne might be used on occasion to treat lupus skin problems but there again they increase photosensitivity which can a very serious consideration.
In general, if a cream is going to help a skin condition it will be obvious fairly soon. If there's no improvement it's best to get back to your doctor. Of course if the skin worsens or there are effects like burning and itching don't use it any more.
Good Luck
Clare
I hope you can get some help soon if not in time for the wedding

Ask about Aclovate Cream....
I was using it in the past and seemed to help.
