<span style="font-family:Comic Sans Ms"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">Hi everyone...

Thought I would start a new thread to update..

Liver Biopsy was done Wed morm and this is the first time I can sit at the computer. It was so incredably painfully for I cant beleive it style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif

First of ...opps the doc got a piece of faatty tissue and had to redo, The sedation they gave me was not strong enough style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ermm.gif and I all but jumped off the catscan table when He went back in a second time. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sick.gif

I clotted very good (I have sticky blood stuff) but no pain meds. Hospital called to check on me and said yes the doc should have ordered pain meds style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif Of course its Friday afternoon so we will see if they call anything into the pharmacy.

Doc said, (Opps we have it a nerve, sory about that) They said I will be having radiant pain...but I am getting allot of spasms deep inside plus stabbing pain style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif

Well, rest and stayong on my left side untill this subsides. Oh and best of all, I went into a small flare...my hands swelled and stiffened up to were I couldnt use them.

They are doing the pathology stat...hope to hear something early next week. Keep your fingers crossed.

I sure am hating this!!!!!
Take care, Steffanee</span></span>

Steffanee-
Sounds just awful and very traumatic!
"Oops" is the LAST thing you want to hear from your Dr. and certainly not SEVERAL times! Wow, sorry you had so much pain from the procedure and hope it goes away ASAP!

Get some good and well-deserved rest this weekend.

Steffanee,

I am so sorry that you are having a rough time. I hope you can get some pain meds and get some relief. When I had my liver biopsy, it was done when I had my galbladder removed. As far as pain goes, I do not remember it hurting afterwards, but I was on pain meds from my surgery.

Why did they do a liver biopsy anyway???
I hope your test results come back fine.

Good luck and best wishes

Nancy

Thank you for all the thoughts and good wishes. Warm fuzzies are good to get.

Now if my test results would come back..... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/afraid.gif Pathology was done stat, now I am not sure what their definition of stat is..doc office said they would call as soon as they come in.

Today I can sit with ease and the pain has gone down some..thank god..that was terrible style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif

Fingers crossed, still not sure what to wish for.... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ermm.gif

Hey Steph! What a terrible experience! Just goes to show how different we all are, and how we all experience these things in our own way. My biopsy was a non issue, a band aid and tylenol. I am so sorry yours went so differently. If it helps, I spoke to another friend prior to mine, and she had a similiar experience to yours - I don't think it is out of the norm.

I flared really bad too, and am still recovering. Hope you get feeling well soon! You are in my thoughts and prayers - Tracy

Steffanee,

So sorry about your experience. I had one done and I had no problem at all. The big pain in the but was having to lay there for 4 hrs.

My came back that liver was inflamed do to methotraxtate. ALT and AST went through the roof.

I am now on a drug calleed urso forte. this drug will protect my liver to the point that they think I might be able to go back on metho but nobody wants to take the chance. I am on cytoxin now.

I am sorry about your experience. when I was going to have it done several people reply to me that it was a walk in the park. which it was for me.
