Help! Any words of advice for my mum?
She?s finding the whole ?my daughter has lupus? thing hard to come to terms with (as am I! but I?ve found this message board to be a great help)I?ve just been diagnosed with Lupus at 28 and she doesn?t know how to deal with the fact I won?t have the ?normal? life she dreamt of for me. Unfortunately she?s not computer literate so I?m posting this on her behalf!!

Ta in advance of any advice/suggestion/words of wisdom!!

Hi there.

I would say to print out some of the information from this site for her to read. Let her know that life can be normal with Lupus. Many people that have it live normal lives, long lives, etc.

With the right treatment and support, you can too.

It may be that she is just unfamilar with it where back in her day people with Lupus were worse off and probably didn't live long because of undiagnosis and not the right treatment.

Help her to learn more about the disease.

Good luck !
