Hi, Im just wondering if the ribosomal blood test is a determining factor for Lupus? If so how high is considered a positive? Example, mine was a 5. This low, is this considered a positive reading?
Thank you, SMM style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/flowers.gif
Hi,
With all tests it depends on whether they are out of range or within normal range, and it should state that on the lab results.
RNP at a result of 5 is negative according to this site (anything under 20 is classed as negative) :

But its best to ask your doc what significance this holds in your circumstances. It can be found in SLE and at high titres it more often leads to a diagnosis of Mixed connective tissue disease.
