Hi all,

Haven't posted for a while now but just thought I would let you guys know. I have made to week 37 and so far everything has been great! Even my fatigue has not been as bad as a flare. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cloud9.gif I have my fingers and toes crossed style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clover.gif and all being well will be giving birth around 18th June.

Hubby said it is the first match for Australia (vs Brazil) in the World Cup so I told him he would have more important things to worry about. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif If our surprise doesn't decide to come sooner.

I will let you know how it all goes. The good news is my ob/gyn would prefer me to have a natural birth and he said he is "not a slasher" so tends not to undertake C-sections unless required nor episiotomy either. (yippeeee!) Of course all that could change if things go pear shaped but I have decided it is mind over matter and everything will be great.

Bye for now.

Wonderful news Jodie! of course you have instructed hubby that he has to let us know I hope style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

I hope everything continues to go really well, such an exciting time in your lives.

Can identify on the Cup scenario, the first time I gave birth was during the Olympics, and the second time was during the Commonwealth Games - its been a standard joke here for years how hubby was deprived of some great sporting moments style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif when I was having my own sporting moment with him in attendance style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Excellent news Jodie style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cloud9.gif

Rest up (plus lots of long gentle walks to get baby on a good position), and pamper yourself these last few weeks.

Tell Hubby to get a few video tapes ready so he can tape the game, because YOU are more important.....

All the best - can't wait to hear what flavour you get!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/goodvibes.gif

I'm so happy for you! If you're a first time mum, you're likely to go about 7-10 days past your due date though. But if you're like me, and you felt WONDERFUL while pregnant compared to not pregnant, you won't mind one bit. My OB only let me go 1 week late, and most OB's for lupus mums will not let them go past their due date even from what I've heard - so the most exciting moment of your life is indeed getting very close!

Hi all,

Thanks for your support and warm wishes. I am now 39 weeks and still awaiting the big moment. Hubby won't really mind about the World Cup, he is beside himself with anticipation for our BIG event.

Maia - I feel great btter than I usually do, pregnancy has agreed with me and it is soon now. My Ob won't let me go past my due date though, I have been booked into to see him this coming Tuesday to discuss induction. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/scaredy.gif I would much rather a natural birth but will be happy regardless.

Will keep you all posted.

Bye for now.

Dear Jodie,

All the very best with he birth! I'll be thinking of you. Try not to get too worried about induction. People say it is worse than natural birth, but to be honest both are pretty tough going. Just remember it is only one day (or so) out of your life, and you get a fantastic reward at the end. You can do it style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cloud9.gif

Looking forward to hearing all about it style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/foryou.gif

Hi,

Best of luck with the forthcoming event! I am so jealous - I still have 14 weeks left and the hot weather is really getting to me!

I was induced with my other daughter - and I am not going to lie it was v painful - but it is only one day and take all pain relief that is offered! It is well worth it in the long run and you do forget the pain.
Hope it all goes really well and that you feel fit and well after.

Do get as much rest as you can though. I tried doing the wonderful mother bit and felt exhausted. Sleep when the baby sleeps and ban people from your house unless they call you before hand! I know sounds harsh but my in laws drove me insane knocking the door just as me and baby were having a nap.

Most of all enjoy it!!

Your almost there!!! I bet you can't wait for that lil ****** to come out huh? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif
I was induced on my lil son because he was 2 1/2 weeks late! He did not want to come out for anything! Even with being induced he didn't show himself for 24 hours. The pain is bad, nobody warned me on how it was gonna be like. BUT the lil bundle at the end of it all is soooooooooooo worth everything!
Good luck sweetie!!!!
Your gonna have a lil one to spoil soon!
