style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif Hi everyone,

A new question.

The last time I saw my rhuemy, she told me that my urine test came back abnormal. I had to do another test and the results would be back in a few days. I had actually forgotten about it until the other day. I called my rhuemy to get results but found out she was on a two week holiday and that a copy of my results had been sent to my GP. When I called them, I found out that my GP was also on holidays so nobody can at this stage can give me an answer. Can anyone tell me what could be abnormal with a urine sample, has it something to do with kidneys? Are there any other possibilities..

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wavey.gif Hi there, urine could have protien, blood, or many other things
in it. But, some things mean one thing and some things mean something
else. You just cant diagnose yourself, you'll always be wrong..

Be well and keep posting. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif

Hi, Chloe! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif
At my docs' offices, if there is an abnormal lab result THAT NEEDS TREATMENT and the doc is away, another doc steps in and takes care of that. In fact, that's been the case at all of the docs I've treated with over the years, but I don't know if ALL docs do that. It would make sense, though, from a medical liability standpoint to have someone covering for abnormal labs when the treating doc is away.

A urinalysis can pick up problems in many parts of the body and not just the urinary system. Kidneys, liver, pancreas, and more organs can cause things to spill into the urine that aren't there when everything is working normally.

I'm sorry you're having to wait on the meaning of your test results. I hope that everything is normal, though, and that's why the wait goes on.
