I applied on April 24th, my dds caseworker call me week before last to tell me she had not received all my medical records and wanted to know if I could help her get them so she could make a decision. She went on to say "lupus itself is not an automatic approval, but if my medical records support what I put on my initial application re the lupus cerebritis, sojrens, neuropathy, etc. then she'd be able to approve me".

I called her last week to ensure that she had gotten my records she responded that she had indeed recieved them and that my doctor had included a letter to support me and that she had made a decision. She said I should be getting a letter any day now. I asked her what her decision was and she told me she could not tell me on the phone. She then said you "don't have to worry everything will be okay, your medical records supported everything in your initial application". She was very nice and I am hoping that this means that I will be approved.

Any thoughts on what all this means??? I am so nervous waiting to hear.

Lisade,

Call your contact at the local social security office they may be able to tell you. That is how I found out I was approved when my local contact called me. You can also go online to check your case. I have no idea why she wouldn't tell you on the phone but they have all sorts of rules.

hi lisade,

i got a lot of run around when I was applying. They will not tell you that you are approved at the central level. Must be some kind of office rule. You can try like karen suggested. Or call the central number. That is how I found out that my claim was in an inter office review. Then my claim got ship to a regional office for another quality control review.

I did get my SSD just took a few more weeks of nail biting. I was aprroved in 4 months which I understand is record breaking time.

Best of luck,

Elaine
