Is there any information out there regarding HIGH granulocytes and lupus? My lymphocytes are low, but granulocytes either normal or high off and on throughout my testing. I did read that high AGM could be caused by inflammation, but all the literature for SLE is for a LOW result.

Anyone else get a high AGM on a semi-regular basis? I had no infection this last test, as far as I know. I have had a chronic cough for several months, and developed thrush about a week after the test was done.

Also, I have a chronically high platelet count, but also have several other abnormal clotting counts that point more to a genetic defect than lupus. However, my MPV is chronically low. I'm just wondering if the low MPV could be a reaction to the high platelet count, or should I consider this as a sign that my lupus is becoming more active again? It dropped even lower immediately after my Rituxan treatments, then bounced back to the highest it had been in probably a year. It is now slowly dropping, and is now at the same level it was at when I was diagnosed in October style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif.

My ESR is high again, too...first time since rituxan, though not as high as it was. I kind of knew that, though...my hands and feet have been swelling like balloons, especially on sunny, warm days, and my joints have just been aching like mad. And, to top it off, I've started getting headaches again....not migraine strength, but enough to get my attention, and they are worse at night and when I wake up. I see another LP in the new future....BLECH.

Hi Michelle,

((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) No clue, but as always it would depend on your individual circumstances and what meds you are taking (they may influence things greatly) , so if you are concerned then your doc should be able to give you a reasonable explanation for these abnormalities.

I do hope that there is one and that you arent going into another flare-up, I know its always a concern given your previous problems, but to put your mind at rest do speak with the doc. He may be able to set your mind at ease.

Take care,

love
Lily

Hi, Michelle! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif
I agree with Lily that it makes the most sense to talk to the doc to find out what these results mean in YOUR case.

I just wanted to send you a hug: style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif and say that I hope things begin to improve.

Dear Tandarat,
well, now you are asking questions that the developers of Rituxan are probably arguing amongst themselves about. of course in this case it would be best to ask the doc that prescribed it, or if it was done under a study, the moderator. HUGS, HUGS!!!!! lupus stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oddly, my platlets are the ones that bounce around, without any relation to meds--from 50,000 to 150,000---so I'm low(more lupie normal). Hugs and prayers for understanding on part of docs....and ability to explain clearly to you!!!!!!!!!
