At the moment I've only been diagnosed with seronegative RA and fibro. I've had symptoms of lupus as well but so far the blood tests have come back negative. Earlier this spring I had a reaction on my arms when I was out in the sun. My forearms were pretty red and blistered. It took several weeks to go away. Monday we went out paddleboating. I had a hat on and was covered in sunblock. We were out about 40 minutes and I stayed out of the sun the rest of the day. The last two days I have been completely exhausted, sleeping about 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the afternoon and having very little energy when I am up. Anyone had a similar reaction? I've also been running a small temp and have had more ached than usual.
Hi CTuit,
If it wasnt a case of overdoing it (we can get some of those things just from fitting too much into one day for our body to handle) then its quite possibly a problem from the sun exposure. Make note of it and tell your Rheumy at your next appt.
I hope you feel better in a few days style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif

I agree with Lilly. You may have overdone it. I get that way too. If I do too much yard work, whether it is sunny or not, or if it is past the peak time of sun, I still overdo it and then pay for it dearly for the next few days. So it may not have been the actual sun exposure (since you did use good precaution), but just you overdoing it.
Take it easy and take care of yourself style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif

Hmmmm..... It could be the sun or overdoing it.

I would stay out of the sun. I noticed one time, the ankles and the knees swelled from the sun, then tested another time and no swelling. I keep testing the sun and shouldn't, but I do here and there. Actually it is not a problem lately - THERE IS NO SUN, JUST RAIN, RAIN AND RAIN AND RAIN.
Be careful and just keep tract of when you are in the sun and what happens afterwards.
Hope you feel better.
