How can my C4 be low and my CH50 be high? Shouldn't my C4 be affecting my CH50?

Hi Lisa!
There are nine components to the complement system, named C1 to C9. C3 and C4 are the ones most commonly measured in lupus. CH50 is a measure of the activity of the entire complement system (C1 to C9 combined).
I guess it would be possible for C4 to be low and CH50 to be high...I'd say this is something you'll want to discuss with your doctor.
