Does anyone know what these symptoms are?

Hi all

This a bit embarrasing but can anyone help please? - I am having some <span style="font-size:11pt;line-height:100%"><span style="font-family:Comic Sans Ms">very</span></span> strange symptoms at the moment and I wonder if anyone out there has any ideas.

My skin feels waxy/almost but not quite greasy - this is all over but is most noticable on my face. I also feel very dirty and am sure that I have a bad odour. Also my skin itches badly - Told you it is strange !!!!!!!

Any ideas please, please, please,please

Hi Tine, I was sure I was the only one with this wierd symptom! It mostly happens to my face and neck. I'm flummoxed, but am seeing my Dermy on the 23rd and plan to ask about it. At least you know you are not alone! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif

I cant say I've had those particular problems but a Dermy should be able to help you out in finding a cause.

Have your received your results back yet for the testing that was done?

Tine,

Are you actually feeling dirty or does some of your skin look dirty? Hyper and hypo pigmentation can occur with connective tissue diseases including lupus. It doesn't occur as often with lupus as other ctd's but it does occur. I have what is called the dirty neck syndrome by lay people which is actually hyperpigmentation.

When you say your body feels waxy what do you mean? Is it hard to open your mouth all the way because the skin feels stretched? or does your skin look waxy like with no wrinkles? Just curious what you mean by the term.

I see in your first post that you had lab tests done have you had your follow up appt yet to get the results of your tests? Those were good screening tests to help your doctor know which way to go in the next step of investigating what is going on in your body.

heard of it and this is the only way that we can all learn about our

Hi everyone

Thanks for the replies - Amazed to hear that somebody else has these symptoms, I thought that I was going mad !!!!!!!!! Of all the weird things that could happen - turning into a Madam Tussards wax model takes some beating, don't you agree?

Seriously though, it is starting to really bother me - the feeling of being 'dirty' is so strange, it feels like it is coming from inside me. I feel hot but my temperature is not that high, my body seems to be swollen and I have itching all over.... Anyone any good at research? I don't know where to start on the Internet, what could I type in the search box?

I am still waiting for my blood results, phoned the hospital today and they are posting the results to my doc so hopefully not too long before I know.

Do you feel the same CarolMc? Plese let us know how you feel with this 'thing'

Hi - me again

I felt better for a few days but OH NO the weird feeling is back - maybe it is related to the heat ??? The skin on my face feels like I have smothered it in thick cold cream (does this description make sense?) also the bad 'odour' is back.

I have googled the symptoms but no luck - is there anybody out there that could help with researching or suggest what to key word to type in?. The only thing that I came up with was a problem with my Kidneys - does this sound possible?

Any help or suggestions would be really great.
