Hi to all,
I recently been having really bad shaking, mostly noticable in my arms/hands, but can be all over. This is a new symptom that I have not had like this before and it's worrying me a bit. Has anyone got an idea's or experienced this. It's much worse in the morning and wears off a bit in the afternoon but is still there. I am currently on pred after a bad flare, I thought things were becoming under control. Please let me know if you have had this.

hi ya nat
i know exactly what your going through, it feels like ya nerves have been shot to peaces, when i wake up in morning i stopped rushing out of bed cos i found that didnt help. i take my time with it and the shakes aren't as bad, i've had this for about 2 years an taught myself some calming excercises, i know it sounds islly but it does work, i normally sit on the end of the bed, take a few and i mean a few deep breaths and it slowly wears off the shakes, if not i just think of a mellow place, i was once told it is linked to the nerves, to calm them was to calm yourself, give it a go, i hope it works,

The shaking could be from the prednisone. Do you only take it once a day or is your dosage split? Since it is a new symptom you should check with your doctor.
Take care,

I have gone through periods with shakes/spasms in the past then they go away, in my case, for many years. They just came back recently - I spazed and got to play "85 pill pickup" yesterday. You are not alone, but feelling like a refugee from the drunk tank is not fun.

seeing it wears off over the day, it definitely could be the prednisone. Ask your doc about this next time.
I have a tremor in both hands, but particularly the left - it is a kinetic tremor, as it only happens when I am using my hands. It is a sort of flutter of my fingers after I (for example) dry my hands. It is a bit annoying sometimes, but not really a problem. It gives my typing an interesting look as the tremor means i hit keys when i don't mean to, but that's nothing a spell check can't take care of. I have also slowed the repeat rate on my keyboard to it will ignore rapid repeated keystrokes
there are lots of different types of tremors, if it hangs around I would definitely talk to a doctor about it. But, it definitely could be the prednisone, so if may wear off

Hi I have tremors in both hands and there are times when my hand will just kick away to one side. Quite interesting when I am using the mouse and in the middle of clicking onto something. Drinks take an unexpected jump into the air.
Never have to carry food or drinks any more style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/coffee.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/coffee.gif have thrown too many of them about. I find the shakes upsetting as you seem too it could be the Pred as Raglet says my Dr was very helpful.
Hope you feel better soon

I do not have the shaking all the time, but I do experience it. I have often thought about becoming a bartender as I could mix great drinks style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif .

I'm glad to hear that some of you have tremors, too. Well....i'm not glad for you, just glad i'm not the only one. For the past few months, I've had a tremor in my index finger of both of my hands when I hold my hands out. My index finger shakes back and forth against my middle finger. It's especially bad in my left hand and sometimes it's much worse than at other times. It really worried me and I was thinking that maybe I have MS or something and freaking out about it. I'm only taking 12.5 of prednisone, so I don't think that would be the cause. I also feel dizzy or off-balance alot of the time now.
