Still unsure if i have Lupus or not although it is a strong contender. Have found myself feeling a lot better as it has got warmer in N. Ireland as I have been sore and bone cold for months. No Amount of central heating seems to work.

Sun arrived last week and I celebrated by putting on the suncream and going into the garden for 1 hour 2 days in a row. I'm fair skined and react badly to the sun- sounds silly but it makes me nauseous and if i over do it then i get sun stroke like symtoms.

I have developed a very nasty rash but it doesn't look like prickly heat which i normally get. Instead it is like wee white blisters under my skin. They itch like **** and i keep scratching them. I feel silly going back to my GP and I'm trying to hold out until Friday when I see my Consultant RA.

Does this sound familiar to anyone and what works to stop the itching. I'm just using Savlon- antiseptic cream.

Thanks

Sadie

Hi Sadie

Nice to meet you - like you I am not diagnosed yet but your symptoms are very familiar to mine. I too get sun stroke like symptoms if I go in the sun (also like you I braved this recent heatwave, boy am I regretting it now). I also have the little white blisters that you mention - the only thing that I find has helped is good old fashioned calamine lotion. It is very messy and smells awful but wow is it ever soothing.

Keep in contact and let me know how you get on with getting diagnosed.

Take care and hope the itching goes soon

Tine xx

Just want to add my 2 cents here:

IF it turns out you do have lupus, the sun should be considered an ENEMY of the highest order because of the effects of UVA/UVB on not only the skin, but internal organs, as well.

My sun rash is white bumps and not blisters and they, too, itch like crazy. We are all different. Cool, wet compresses help the itchies for me.

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif Hi carclinty1,

I get the same "Sun Stroke" symptoms with the sunlight or flourescent lighting, but I do not get the rash; at least not yet.

I do get the oval coin shape circles on my hands and legs, plus the red
"webbing" capillaries the surface on any expose area.

This whole transformation is weird to me...I wonder if something else is going to
pop out. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ermm.gif

As far as the Heat condition, I don't know yet...this is my 1st summer with the wolf. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/coffee.gif
