Hi jane
It is wonderful news that you are already feeling much better - I am really pleased for you !
Who can say what the future holds ? Enjoy your present well being to the full but make sure you don't overdo anything at all. Leading a balanced prioritised life with rest, sleep, sun avoidance, a well considered diet a reasonable amount of exercise, cultivating a leisure interest and stress reduction will stand you in very good stead and make flares less likely.
Self management is as important as medicinal therapy.
Use this break to cultivate this essential aspect of living with lupus. Start taking on a commitment or two and maybe a few hours a week voluntary work, to see how you cope, and to get a good idea of your real energy levels and stress endurance. Then if it's too much, not much harm is done.
Whether you can start paid work again depends on what work you did as much as anything else, but also whether you really need to , for financial reasons. Give it a few more months to make sure the disease is controlled, and stable.
I feel a cautious guarded approach is best. Walk, jump, run, fly, in that order.
All the best
Clare
