Need to scream !!!!

I know the title is dramatic but that is just how I am feeling right now! I just need to vent my frustration at todays events;

I have been waiting four weeks for the results of my blood tests - phoned today and found out that they have got lost ........ all that counting down for nothing. Dr's sec is looking into it but until then I have to keep waiting. Don't they realise how hard it is to be stuck in limbo?

Then - I saw two different people that I haven't seen for ages, both made stupid statements like: 'gosh you look so well' and 'I've never seen you look so good, have you been on holiday'. Maybe I was not in the right mood and not feeling as understanding as usual but I had such trouble gritting my teeth and mumbling a pleasantry before rushing off. Now I am calmer I can see how they may have come to this conclusion - I have a bright red rash covering my cheeks and nose which could be taken as healthy rosy cheeks and nice plump pink lips (this is due to loads of painful blisters on the inside of my lips)

Sorry to ramble on but i just had to get my moans off my chest - maybe tomorrow will be better (will be chasing these results, how childish of me to be so impatient)

I think that the docs need to find your results and fast !!!

Also, it is nice that they thought you looked good ! Take that as a compliment that you haven't lost your looks.

Sometimes if people know you are sick, they just say that to be nice and try to make you feel better, not to say of course they don't look good.

I have been told, you look good. Ya, I put makeup on, dress nice, the smile fits, and I look good. The inside, as we all know it, does not.

That is why Lupus is deceiving, look good on the outside, killing on the inside.

Get on that docs back !!!

Thanks everyone for kind replies - really great to know that there are friends out there for support.


I'm feeling a little calmer now - thanks to you all. I wasn't up to chasing the missing results today but I'm determined that tomorrow I will get on the case.


It didn't cross my mind to take the daft comments as compliments .... but yeah - maybe thats the way to deal with them.


Hugs for everyone - the support was brilliant (brought a lump to my throat)

Hi! I get that too! My boyfriend allways says that I am more beautifull when I have those simptoms! he never notices that I don't feel good! I guess I do look better (when the rash is mild and my lips are fuller), but I would rather look normal, and feel normal...

Lost your blood results??? I can not believe the incompetence of some doctors offices. Can they not call the lab and get a new copy??? gesssshhh.
