Hi All:

I have my rheumatologist appointment tomorrow afternoon. It is almost 1am here in NY and I just can't sleep (this is a first in many weeks). I just want a proper Dx! I am so sick of being tired and in pain almost all of the time. I have had many more bad days then good since Feb of 05. I guess that I am just scared. This site has been very helpful in so many ways but reading some of the posts about what seems to be a never ending struggle with doctors and dx has me worried. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/scaredy.gif Thank you for listening.

Love To All,
Liza

I know it is never fun going to the doctors and wondering how it is going to turn out. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif
I usually find that I have worried over nothing. Just tell your rhumey how you are feeling.
We are all different in getting our dxs. I got mine the first time I went to the doc. He did blood work and called me a week later and said I had SLE. Please try not to stress out. I know it is easier said than done.
Hang in there and please let me know how you are doing.
Remember not to wear make-up or have finger nail polish on.
Take care and try to sleep.

Hello Liza

Yes I know seeing a doctor for the first time is as bad as taking an exam that your future depends on.

I would be very surprised, considering your health history which speaks volumes, if this does't mark an important step to getting answers and helpful treatment.

We tend to hear about those who took years for diagnosis - the ones who get diagnosed quickly are far more than you would think from reading these forums which tends for obvious reasons to focus on the problems.
I'm sorry I am not living in NYC anymore to be some practical help. It's a 'good' place to have lupus for sure - with a heavy concentration of the world's best.

Wishing you all the luck in the world and I'll be thinking of you holding your hand through cyberspace.

Let us know what happened

Hugs

Clare

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wavey.gif Hi Lisa, welcome to this site. I can imagine just how nervous
you are, but just remember that the first appt. is the only hard one.
I wanted to say, please don't be upset if you don't get a firm diagnosis
tomorrow, I always try to say that getting started on the meds is more
important than getting that label of a disease. Try your very best to
de-stress, then when its over, come here and let all of us know how it went.
((((((( hugs))))))) (((((((good wishes))))))).

Be well and keep posting. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif
