Hallo all,

I am wondering how those of you who have used steroid cream for the butterfly rash have found it...

Did it work?
How quickly?
How long did you use it for?
Did you have any bad reactions to it?
Did it help with redness at all or just the bumps/scaliness?

I'm getting married in 2 1/2 weeks and would really like to be rash free for the day. I know sunscreen and hats are the best prevention and I'm doing my best there, but a bit extr help would be good if the cream is likely to work...

Seeing the rheumy thursday, so if you've had positive experiences, I'm planning to ask him about it.

Thank you for your help!

Hi Cath! it does help for me a bit, i have a pretty strong one and its an ointment not a cream, the cream didnt help at all but it will make u look SOOoooo pale the day after but the actual bumps dont start to impove for a while so if it works the same for u as it does for me use it say for two days straight a week before ur big day style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif and a week later u should notice some improvment

None of the steroid creams worked for me. Maybe you could ask your doc for a quick dose of pred? That was the only thing that worked for me until the plaquinil kicked in.

Congratulations on your wedding. I hope it turns out to be everything you dreamed it to be. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

Hi Cath,

Congratulations on your wedding!!!

As far as I am concerned the best cream for my butterfly rash is ELIDEL, although I try to use it as little as possible. Why not asking your doctor? It's not exactly a steroid cream, I think but it works wonders for eczema and malar rash.

Please, bear in mind that I don't have any medical knowledge (I?m just sharing my experience).

Good luck on your wedding day!! I?m sure you?ll look lovely style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

Thanks Luscinda for the tip - I'd never heard of Elidel, so will have a lok into it when I have a moment style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/coffee.gif
