Hi Roxie
I'm pretty sure that the DLA grant depends entirely on the extent to which you are unable to function and how much help you need in a variety of respects, such as personal care and how far you can walk, regardless of any other circumstances. You will need to fill in an application form.
Look at the sites already mentioned here for guidance and downloading forms and so on.
For example

I have just been reading my Union magasine and came across an article that might prove useful.
Try this site http://www.drc.org.uk/usingyourrights/landing/
Hope it helps.

hi roxie
yes you can claim both, i work part time and get DLA and tax credits, i dont tell many people as i think they will think i am a money grabber etc,but i do suffer, but they dont see it, like evrey1 else says on this site people say 'i look well', i have dibetes, epilepsy, lupus sle and hypothyroidism, good luck
