I have just discovered a new site

http://medguides.medicines.org.uk/pilot/default.aspx

which appears to be a pilot site with a proper one to be produced in 2007. It seems a bit complicated to navigate in some areas but when you find the drug you are looking for, it has loads of useful information. Though it appears to be connected to the pharmaceutical industry, it did seem to have helpful honest information about the drugs I looked at. Eg. side effects, interactions, dose, etc.
I would be interested to know what others think of it.

Caper,

It does look interesting but as you said a bit complex in the navigating. The med site I like to use is http://www.drugdigest.org You can do drug interactions for all your meds at the same time. However I think it is only medication names used in the USA and not all our meds have the same names as they do in other countries.

I don't know how correct the website is though - it says that there are no known interactions between Methotrexate and alcohol which is a bit of a concern as it is an style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ermm.gif extremely dangerous combination.

Princess Di,

Princess Di. Drug digest does discuss the alchohol in its description of methotrexate. Perhaps you were looking at the interactions instead of the drug description and side effects. Here is the page on Drug Digest. It is discussed under the what should I watch for heading.

Take care,
Karen
