Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am stuck in the middle of the DLA/incapacity form filling nightmare. I am sick of having to prove how ill I am when there are so many scroungers/non genuine cases who have no problem getting every benefit under the sun. I have just been refused DLA and just can?t be bothered to appeal am so pessimistic about the whole thing. Don?t we have enough to put up with without this added stress?

Sorry to hear that you have been turned down for DLA but please please please appeal - you only have a short period of time in which you can start the appeal procedure rolling so you need to get on with it - you don't have to go it alone you can get help from places like CAB.

Don't think that because you got turned down once that it will always be that way - i got turned down for incapacity benefit the 2nd year that i was claiming it - i appealed and got the decision changed and they awarded it to me - so you need to appeal and get what you are entitled to.

Good luck style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clover.gif with the appeal if you decide to go ahead with it.

Take care XxX Jo XxX style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clover.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clover.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clover.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clover.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clover.gif </span></span>

a friend of mine had a bad time with dla but appealed and won she did get help from citizens advice beur when filling in the forms as she said the asked same questions just different way round, she thought it was as though they were trying to catch her out, honestly she has severe health issues with small children and can no longer work. her husband did serve and they also got help from saafa. good luck the fraudsters make harder for the genuine people.

Hi Rachel

You seem to be having a terrible time with the DLA. I wish you luck in your appeal, it sounds like this has gone on way to long.

Take Care

hi hun, just wanted to add again to keep fighting it and hope that your appeal goes well. i got awarded dla for a fixed period last year to this year due to my wrist being bad but i had to go thru application, reconsideration, appeal and tribunal. this is pretty standard for dla claims from what ive seen (i used to work in benefits)..the things is u have claimed as u feel entitled to it-u know u need help so dont give up on what your entitled to. also remember that once awarded dla this will in turn affect your other benefits so if u are entitled u really shud fight for it as u will be missing out on alot of well needed help financially..i got the welfare rights people to represent me for my appeal.there shud be one local to you, i have a freind who works in huddersfield as a suppport worker (funnily enuff hes actually taking a client to a dla court hearing today lol), i can ask him for any info on who may be able/best to help u out with it if u like?.. xxxx
ETA with my claim it took 12 months from initial application to tribunal and i got the money thru last week so i can b a long road im afraid.xxxx

Hello Rachel,
please please, do as bugsy said! Appeal!!
I tried for five years to get DLA. Was refused four times!!! I kept throwing it in the bin!!
The last time i threw it in the bin and then took it out again and thought, oh well i will have a go.

I appealed and got it for LIFE!!!!!

Its not nice doing it and I hated the appeal procedure BUT I won in the end. I know its stressful and it made me soooooo stressed out but it was worth it in the end.
So thats all I can say about it apart from good luck and do try.

Best wishes
angie
