I find that my rhemy, doesn't leave my on any meds long enough
to find out if they are working or not.
I see him every 3 months and every 3 months he is changing the meds.
Imuran(caused upset stomach)
Cellcept(did nothing for my numbers)
Cytoxan seems the only medicine that works.
He is a great doctor other than that.

Hi Lorie!

I had a neurologist change my medications every time I saw him when we were trying to get a significant increase in migraines under control. It was very frustrating! Have you talked to your rheumy about this? Let him know your concerns the next time you see him. If he's a great doc, he'll listen.

Lorie,

Generally 3 months is adequate time for a medication to start helping us. One exception would be plaquenil which sometimes takes 6-9 months to start working. Certainly it is a good idea to talk it over with him so that he can explain what he is trying to do for you.

Sometimes it takes a long time to find the right combination of medications to get a patients disease process under control. Besides your lab tests how are you feeling when you are on these various meds?

Take care,
Karen

The medication that I am on now is Cytoxan and it seems to be working the best( other than the side effects). I guess it is a slow process. Been playing around for almost 3 years. Slowly but surely I guess:p
