Hi All!

I had a somewhat promising appointment with the Neuro today. She actually listened to me! Not only that, but acted genuinely concerned and even better, like she believed me! She asked me a ton of questions. :what: She didn't suggest anything she thought it might or might not be but she sent me for a ton of tests also.

They took 4 HUGE  vials of blood. I really wish I could remember everything she had listed but among them were lupus anticoagulants, CPK, CRP, Lyme ALD (?). :umm:I really wish I would of written them all down before I gave the rx to the lab. But she had completely filled up the sheet with tests. At the lab they apologized for taking so long and said it was because they had to look up some of the tests she had ordered bc they weren't famaliar with them. this reassures me that at least she is being very thorough. She is also sending me for MRI and EEG and I go back to see her and discuss all results on August 28. Which seems like forever, but I know it's really not that long when it comes to waiting for some of these appointments. :wink2:

To say the very least, even if all the tests come back normal, :worried: which they probably will, I will still feel validated  that she listened to me and is taking me seriously. Instead of just nodding in agreement with me all the while looking at me like "lady..  . you've totally lost it."

I felt pretty good about this appointment anyway and wanted to tell you all about it. No one else would understand.

Hi Juju,

Thats wonderful that she was so attentive and seems prepared to test thoroughly and take you seriously. Thats all any of us can ask and I wish you good luck with the bloods and the MRI/EEG. Its a good start in trying to sort out your Neuro stuff.

Sending hugs,

love
Lily

Hi there.

I am glad that your appointment went well. Your neuro sounds like a good doctor that listens to you.

I know the waiting period is frustrating, but at least some of this testing is getting down and maybe some things can be ruled out. I had to go through so many doctors that brought me to Lupus. I know how you feel. But try to take comfort in knowing that testing is being done and maybe you will get some answers soon and be able to receive the right treatment for you.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for good results, but at the same time, they can figure out what is causing the problems.

Good luck.

Hi Lily and Helloos

Thank you so much for your replies. I do feel pretty good about the appointment. I feel better about seeing this dr than any I've seen before. She didn't make me feel crazy and I felt like she was really listening to me.

Thank you again!

Wow, it finally happened, you finally got someone to sit down , look you in
the face, listen to you and take what you said very seriously. It can't get
much better than that. And all those tests she ordered, sounds promising too. I havent figured out how to work this board yet, but I did want to tell you just how happy I was for you. ((((((hugs)))))

Be well and keep posting
