Does anyone have some favorite crockpot/slow cooker ideas.

I did this and it worked out great when at work for the day.

Chicken pieces with no fat on bottom, layered with carrots, pototoes and broccoli, onions, whatever you want for seasoning then a can of chicken broth - 1cup actually - and simmered all day and at night - delicious !

It was easy, and it was a good meal.

Any other suggestions. I would like to try this again !

one pound of mixed meat.(hamburg)
one can of brown beans
one can of kidney beans (well rinsed)
one can of chic peas
one can of tomatoes
one onion ( cut as you like it)
one stock of celery ( means one pc to me)
one green pepper
one pkg of chili mix, ( you can also add a couple of garlic gloves if you like them)
mix all together and put in to slow cooker for the day

hmmmm good.

also the same as you did with the chicken but put in one cup of water and one pkg of lipton onion soup mix

all so good.

you can cut up all the veggie at night and put in water in the fridge and then in the morning . just put it all in the slow cooker

makes me hungry :rotfl:

Hi Paula

I can really relate to your slow cookers ect, I do allot of stir frys and one pot meals, mainly because there tasty, easy, ready when you want them, and the truth is I hate doing dishes. I usually do roasts, stews and soups in the slow cooker, you can pretty much cook anything in them.:)

I found this book for recipees and I tried putting the pork chops in it. Let me tell you I have never had tender pork chops before like this !!!

It is great for work days, all in one place, and no need to be cooking over the stove.

Yummy - can't wait until fall and all those slow cooked dinners again!

Sunday Pot Roast Dinner

2-3lb beef round roast
2 pkgs Lipton Onion Soup mix
2 cans Campbells Beef Consomme
5-6 potatoes, quartered
1 large onion, quartered
2 ribs celery, chopped
3-4 carrots, chopped, or a good ammt of peeled baby carrots
5 cloves of garlic, peeled
Bay leaf
Lemon pepper or Mrs. Dash
Thyme
salt
In a large pan, empty out the dry soup mix, and rub to cover roast completely.
Place 1/2 the potatoes, carrots, onion, & celery on the bottom of a large crock pot. Spread garlic over the vegetables, and tuck in bay leaf. Sprinkle with 1 generous t. of the lemon pepper, 1/2 t. of the thyme, and salt to taste.
Place roast on top of vegetables, and scrape up any of the soup mix left over and place on top of the meat.
Spread the remaining vegetables around roast, and season again with lemon pepper and thyme.
Pour both cans of consomme around the roast.
Cook on high for 9 hours - best pot roast ever, and leftovers are instant beef stew.
