The Private Message facility is very useful for members to contact each other without revealing e-mail addresses. That way total anonymity can be preserved.
It is also the preferred way for the Moderators to contact members.

3. Handy tips on Navigating around the Message Boards
Here are a few tips for the novices on ways to navigate around the Message Boards.
Firstly, you can click into any Forum and select and read through the various posts.
Alternatively you can click on New Posts and this will bring up only the new posts since you last logged onto the site. After you have read or replied to any post, you can continue to keep refreshing New Posts. Once you log out of the site, all unread posts will be marked as read and wont appear as New Posts the next time.
You can also click on Quick Links and select Todays Posts and this will display the list of the current days posts, even if you have logged on and off several times in the day.
Quick Links can also bring you into your User Control Panel where you can edit your Profile, Signature or various other options (like enabling Private Message facility for example).
Quick Links can also bring you quickly into your Private Message store.
Sending a Private Message to another member.
If you are reading the members post and want to send a Private Message just click on their name on the left hand side and a drop down menu gives you a selection which includes ‘Send a Private Message to…..’. If this option doesn’t show, this means that the member has not enabled this facility and you cannot send them a message.
Alternatively if you see their screen name anywhere on the board you can click on the name and it brings you into their Profile. On the right hand side there is a box headed Contact Info. In this box you will see ‘Send a private message to….’. Click on this. If you don’t see this option this means that the member hasn’t enabled their private message facility and you cannot send them a message.
Finding a Members screen name link
If you cant find the member’s name on the Message Boards you can search for them by clicking into Members List, and clicking Search Members over on the right. Enter the members screen name and their name will appear. Just click on the name and this gets you into their Profile and follow the rest of the steps in the paragraph above.
If you are not sure of the exact screen name but you have an idea of what it is, you can use the Advanced Search function. When you click on Search Members you will see Advanced Search just underneath. Click this and enter as much detail as you know and a selection of similar names may come up. Choose the one you want and then you can click the member and get into their profile.
Finding old posts posted by yourself and other members.
Once again there are two ways of doing this. Firstly, if you are actually reading the members posts, click on their screen name on the left hand side and the drop down menu will display ‘Find all posts by…..’. Click this and this will display all the members old posts.
You can also access old posts by going into the Members Profile and selecting this option on the left hand side…
Remember:
You can refresh your page anytime by either clicking New Posts, Todays Posts (in Quick Links) or clicking The Lupus Site Message Boards link on the left near the top.
If you decide to email any member (as opposed to Private Messaging), that member will then be able to view your own email address. Some members may want to keep their email address private, so it is worth reminding people of that.
Happy Navigating!:)
