Unfortunately attempts to get lupus included as one of the conditions recognised for disablement discrimination purposes were not successful, but MS was added to the List.

However 'invisible conditions' such as arthritis might count.

The weasel phrase is " reasonable adjustments" that the employer has to make

Hi I was sent a link (can't post it yet not been on here long enough?) for the Dissability rights commsion for the following doc
(above web site drc-gb sub folder pdf DefnOfDisability.pdf)
it is guidance notes as to the definition of a disability, and I couldn't see a date when I scanned it quickly.
I am dyslexic a bit so don't know if I have read it right?
I think it says that lupus can be classed as a progressive condition and as long as it is long term can be covered by the DDA.
Could someone have a look and see what they think as well, thanks.

I have now found the page that refers to it
Home > The Law > Legislation, Codes, Regulations and Guidance > Guidance (http://www.drc-gb.org/the_law/legislation__codes__regulation/guidance.aspx)
It says it came into force on 1/05/2006

The document is at http://www.drc-gb.org/pdf/DefnOfDisability.pdf
