Is it possible to have lupus and not have arthritis? My daughter has at least 4-5 of the lupus criteria including a slightly positive ANA. She has had 2 swollen joints from a bug bite though but really swelled and got red and warm but not painful for her. Her rheumatologist did blood work and she said all came back fine including the test for inflammation. She is going to retest her when she gets sick again. Because she gets very sick about every 2 months or so with high fever. She is only going to be 3 next month she also has celiac disease another autoimmune disorder.
Thanks for any input. She follows up with the rheumy in dec.

it would be pretty unusual to have lupus without any joint involvement, which is not to say impossible. I am very lucky with my joints, but I still have had episodes of hot swollen joints during the course of my disease.
