Hi everyone, im an 18 year old SLE patient! i was diagnosed 4 years ago in highschool. I was scared and worried, i really didnt know what that was at that time, but now im a pro at knowing and understanding this illness. Sometimes i have good days and some are bad, but my mom always helps me out when i have bad days she always manages to bring a smile to my face! i'm just glad to know theres more people out there like me!, im really not that open with my illness, so this blog will really help me express my thoughts and feelings ! :)

I was diagnosed when I was 12ish. It was great to have a mom to help me thru the rough times and of course the good. Good luck and keep up the great attitude.

Hello! Im 18 as well, have only been diagnosed for a year and still struggle with it, but i am lucky as i know i could be alot worse and my mum, like yours has been great. How do you cope with keeping up with friends ect?i tend to feel like im missing out as i get tired alot quicker than they do or suffer a lot longer the next day :p i, like you am not that open about having lupus, its only on this site really where i say how i feel, i just tell everybody else that im fine :hehe: and dont go into details, its a nice feeling to know your not the only one xxxxx

Hi there - welcome to the forum!

I was also diagnosed around 14, but I'm practially ancient now, having reached the advanced age of 34 in relatively good shape!

I wasn't good at sharing back then either - typical teenager I think - but a forum like this would have probably helped me a lot with getting through some of the feelings, so I'm glad you found us.
