Hi
Ive been on here since last febuary when i had to leave uni as i found out i had lupus and was really ill. Im back at uni now and so far so good. I try and eat well, although its hard being a student and i try not push myself. I go out with friends and as long as i dont do it to often i can enjoy clubbing. I do my work early so that i dont have any stress, also i dont wanna leave it and then get ill when i have to do it. Just wanted to let other people my age know it is possible :)

Hi Natilie.
I am glad that you are doing well. You are such a strong person and I admire that. You have already learned to pace yourself, it seems that you accepted things, and are living your life.
I am 35 and can say that you have learned more in your life time than I have and you should pat yourself on the back for that.
Keep up the positive attitude and good work.
Thanks for sharing and reminding us that "it is possible".

Good for you, good luck with your studies.
I am glad to hear someone else who thinks positively about what they can do and finding out how they can do something instead of can't.
how long have you got left on your course and what are you studying? (If you don't mind me asking).

Natalie well done for geting back into University and your studies, WAY TO GO GIRL.
I know it is not easy as I too am studying a BA of Social Work and I am 40, so to those who are of "mature age" (to put it nicely) hehehe... it is also never to late to learn, even with an illness. Although, I do most of my study externally via internet lectures and student contact via University Internet forums. Myself, I would not be able to attend University in person, due to being to ill and being a disabled pensioner, but if you can find a University who has external programs such as mine and a degree which interests you it can be done, albeit slowly. Some may even be able to attend on campus lectures depending on the severity of their symptoms.
If anyone would had have told me I would be studying a BA of Social Work 5 years ago, I would of told them yeah sure...not in this life time. How things change.
So to Natalie is right in saying it is possible to study with an illness.
Once again well done Natalie, pace yourself and I know you will be successful.

I remember how totally fed up you were at the start of the year.
Thanks for letting us know how well you are doing. I hope you'll look in from time to time to encourage other young people facing similair seemingly insuperable problems.
All the best
