please can somebody help me

hi all hope you are all well,i have been itching severly beyond anything i have ever had even though i am on medication for it antihistamines,the itching is all over mostly legs leaving red pinprick spots,also i have noticed that i am not urinating like i used to always weeeed a lot since a kid now not much at all i am also getting a lot of swelling in fingers cant wear wedding ring anymore i had it made bigger but still cant wear it,severely fatgue could the tablets i am on be causing this cymbalta has anyone else experienced this prob with this meds. i would appreciate any insight thanks,or any info on how to get this itching under control,is it a common prob with sle thanks joanne8

Hi Joanne,

I really think you need to see your doctor about this as soon as you can (today or tomorrow). The pin prick spots sound like they might be petechiae. Try pressing the side of a clear glass over them. If they don't blanche (dissapear with the pressure), they are petechiae. This could be because of the SLE... have you ever had vasculitis?

Ideally it would be good if you could see your rheumy, but probably you can see the GP quicker than the rheumy. If you can't see either, I think this is important enough to go to A&E for. They need to rule out some causes and work out what it is. How do you feel generally? Any severe headache , visual disturbances or vomiting, go to A&E straigt away.

hi cath, thanks for your reply,i had my hubby have a look he said they are like little scabs probably where i have been itching although i must admit quite strangeas in the past if i itch i would be left with obvious looking scratches or scabs,they do look like petechie but with tiny scabs on them,i do have some of those petachie spots but i dont think they are enough to worry about,i think what is bothering me the most is this severe itching i have had outbreaks of mild itching over 17yrs but the last 4yrs i have been on antihistamines which has helped but all of a sudden in the last 6months i have had intense itching more often than not,it does not feel like allergy as such meaning i am not sneezing etc:,the only abnormal blood results i have had back in the 17yrs has been recently with red blood cells raied and abnormal kidney which they did urine test that was fine this was about 3months ago,they also checked red blood cells at that time and they had returned normal,im not sure if when they were raised i was itching bad then,but everytime i see a doc about this they dont take it serious,they wont refer me back to dermy,i have been dx with m.e for the last 17yrswith fibro although i have never seen a rhumy this has only ever been gpdx as all test came back notmal,but what frightens me is i had protein on/off in urine many years before i knew i had m.esince i was twelve as they thought i was diabetic as my father is i was put into hospital for a week but nothing was found since then they kept asking me if i was pregnant on routine urine test as protein showing but still nothing done again,now they are saying i am a alcoholic as red blood cells coming back raised which is quite common in alcohol abuse fine but i dont touch alcohol very allergic to it,this is my reasons why i am worrying because when i look back at the abnormaties over 17 yrs including blood clot in leg going up to lung,severe unexplained bowel bleed still no explanation,ive read on many posts here and a lot of people have been through the same in one way or the other,but what is really frightens me is this itching because im thinking that it is so severe that i have major organs involve i know that kidneys normally show no signs as such,i feel i have to wait until something develops as they think i am depressed so put most of probs down to this,i know this isnt just the case and it will probally take until i am in intensive care before theyll do anything or maybe it is all in my head.sorry to go on but also had bad news today about dla,claim after 6yrs of giving me high mobility/middle care rate now yhry decided all i should get is low care rate nothing else how can they justify this just had enough after 17yrs nobody still believes theres any thing that bad going on.thanks for talking to me cath

I think you should contact the GP also and get an appointment. A repeat urinalysis would be a good idea regardless of what they think this is.

thankyou lily i just dont know where to turn as i have these sx but when i see gp they make me feel its nothing just me being neurotic,i suppose if my vitals arnt showing no abnormaties at the time of visit then they are not going to believe me,i just dont understand how you can feel so unwell with no abnormaties showing after 17yrs i thought something would show thankyou lily for your kind words joanne8

Hi Joanne8.
I thought i was the only one who had this problem with itching, I have been taking antihistamines for years and my GP would not send me for a allergy test, I have not taken them now for a few days and the itching is driving me mad, trying to get off them, but dont know how long i can go, it even keeps me awake at night. My joint and muscle pains are also worse when not taking them so am thinking this maybe all connected.
