Any exertion?

I am finding that any exertion is causing me to become breathless. Bending down to pet my dog and my legs feel like they are going to give out and I become breathless. Any one else familiar with this symptom?

Actually, no I don't get that breathless. It sounds pretty severe - something to get checked out by the doctor. This really doesn't seen to be normal - even lupie normal:hehe:

I felt similar to what you are describing once, it came on very slowly over a period of weeks. Turns out I had been accumulating fluid in my lungs. Toward the end, before I went to the Dr. I would also get very light headed when I tried to stand up straight after leaning over, I also once in a while felt like my heart was trying to roll over in my chest. I also noticed that I was taking quick shallow breaths all of the time. I had no wheezing/congestion or pain though. I hope this helps:)

Yup, count me in on that one.

I was just thinking the asthma but not really sure as I have no explanation either. Sometimes that feeling lasts a few days and even when I talk if I say a paragraph I sound like I ran a mile. But I am not dizzy but breathlessness like you say.

I know you have asthma, do you think maybe that is acting up as well?
Has the weather changed there this week? I know it has this week here and my allergies are going hay wire.

Thanks girls, I will definitely keep an eye on this. It's funny I just went for a long walk and I was fine. I was not breathless. It seems to happen when I exert my muscles. ???????
