I have not yet been diagnosed with Lupus, and will find out tomorrow if it's Lupus, Arthritis or Fibromyalga. I am not sure what to expect, so I am asking questions.

I am 24 and have living with most of the syptoms (based on the list provided by this web site) for 4 years now. I am wondering if I have Lupus, what is going to happen to me in the years to come? Is there a way to control it naturally (without) steriods and pain medicine? I would appreciate any input anyone has. Thank you.

Some people are able to control symptoms pretty well with Plaquenil alone, and occasional use of NSAID's for pain management. Many people have some nice stretches of time with minimal symptoms and possibly even no symptoms. it's quite variable. The bottom line is you do what you have to do, & you will do what works even if it is steroids. They're not all bad; especially if they help with the pain which for most they help tremendously ;)

I hope you have a good doctor visit tomorrow, and get some answers and some good treatment whatever the outcome.

Hi agh and welcome :)

NSAIDS is short for non-steroidal anti-inflammatories and Plaquenil is an anti-malarial.

You will find more information on the meds we take and why we take them on this page:

Good luck with your follow-up and let us know how you get along.
