I used to get a pinched nerve in my ear all the time when I was a receptionist. I usually could massage it out, but it was very painful. I blamed it on the phone back then.
Recently, I have been getting a similar feeling in both ears, and I can make it come and go by rubbing the front or back of my ear sometimes. Does anyone else experience this?

Hi, Lullrich!
Sorry to hear about the problems you're experiencing with ear pain.
I don't have that problem, and don't have any experience knowing someone else with something like that.
There is a condition called trigeminal neuralgia that involves the nerve that is directly in front of the ear that has branches spreading across the face. I've had that and it is very painful. It can be either acute or chronic. If you're having pain only in the ear, though, I don't know if it could be that condition.
It sounds very uncomfortable. If you haven't had this checked out before, I think something so painful deserves its own doctor's visit, perhaps to your general practitioner. If it's something with an easy fix, I think you'll be glad to know. And if it requires more than that, it's still worth getting under control.
I wish you well!
Angela :)

Hi Lullrich
What do the pains in your ear feel like?
I have really bad pains that feels like someone/something is sticking me in my ear. It comes as a sharp shooting pain then goes away as quickly as it came on. sometimes it last for hours.
Ive had them looked at but the nurse said my ear canal was too clean and slightly red.
I also think I have tinnitus, sounds like static or a high pitch whine/ringing. the right ear is worst then the left.
other then annoyng the GP with this I try to ignore it(like many other things)
gentle hugs and kisses
Ivy

Hi Ivy,
Mine is more like a nerve pain. It is sharp and burning all at the same time. I can press on it to make it hurt and sometimes make it stop.
