Hi Summer,
I moved this post to make one of your own in the hope you get some better input.
I havent had any heart problems except for Pericarditis with my Lupus but it was an excruciatingly sharp strong pain around my heart that made me think I was having a heart attack. It did come in waves as you describe and wasnt much fun.
I think as with a previous post any chest pain needs checking out ASAP with your doc, there are so many reasons for it but with your history of heart problems its probably all the more reason to seek help and get this looked at quickly. I would go to ER if need be.
:hugbetter: Hope it gets sorted soon.

I agree with Lily that this deserves checking out. A symptom that has the possibility of being something that threatens life or limb, like chest pain, especially when it hasn't happened before and been evaluated-- should be investigated ASAP.
I know what you mean about not having health insurance, but your life is important enough even if it means making small installment payments to the hospital till the bill is paid off.
If you're in the US, you can go to the closest county hospital and be seen regardless of finances. They cannot turn you away, and because of the large volume of people they see, they are generally among the best hospitals around as far as patient outcome.
Since you're not in the throes of this chest pain at the moment, I think it would be a good time to make an appointment to have your chest checked over at your doctor's office and get a referral to the appropriate specialist(s)-- a cardiologist and maybe a pulmonologist, as well.
Hope things begin to improve for you!
Angela :)
