I have this kind of aching (glands) for what seems almost non stop of late.

Its as if it goes right up the back of my mouth espically the left hand side.

Either-side of my neck: if I push from the outside with fingers ' in and upwards' it hurts. I can feel the pressure points where it hurts easily.

Inside from throat onwards it feels as if my lungs/innards are brusied and they ache but not as bad, more kind of knackered chest. No sharp pain.

All I know until I get a diagnosis hopefully in Dec is that it sounds like my immune system is affecting me somehow.

I wont mention the fluish tiredness:rolleyes: !

Wouldnt it be good if you could plug somebody into your body for a minute or so. They could feel how it feels to be in your body. I think my husband would die of the shock !.

I wondered if the aching throat thing rings anybells with anyone. The other things I have read on here so Im aware of those.

Throat/neck anyone?

Thanks
Nicky

Hi! I have had a constant sore throat for a week. It feels like I am swallowing razor blades. I am on an antibiotiic but I am worndering it is a virus. When I was first dxed I got constant sore throats as I would get an upper respitory infection as least once a month. After ahile I got better when my lupus calmed down. Are you going to all the dr.? With being sick having a great dr is a must. I know it is hard to get dxed. I went through 11 drs. I have one now and she is wonderful. If she wasn't I would fire her and move on. I hope you can get something. I am suffering with one now and it is not fun.
I know exactly how you feel about letting others feel what we go through as it is so hard for them to understand. I went through this but now in my life are only people who understand when I am sick, I am sick.

Hi Nicky,
I was getting something like that but it was happening when I would get a hot flush then the gland inside my neck would hurt.I told my rheumatolgist and all she did was feel my neck and told me my glands were not swollen. This really made me better.lol.eventually it stopped.I still dont know what caused it.I would like to know if you have better luck in finding out what it is.
Soft hugs kay

I experience a stinging sensation in some of the glands in my head and neck, this is followed by an immediate swelling of said gland, sometimes to double its previous size. I have had sore throats that last a little over a week off and on, not associated with any other cold or flu like symptoms. A while back I did a little research on the subject and found out that sore throats are fairly common among lupies, as the throat contains a lot of immune related glands and such. I took this to mean the more active the lupus the more likely a lupie is to developed unexplained sore throats. I have found that alternating between warm and cold on the inside as well as the outside brings some relief. For example for the inside, sip a cup of tea and follow it with a popsicle, for the outside warm washcloth compresses followed by a chill pack. I hope you experience some relief soon:)

Thanks all for replies:)

I dont have a sore throat really. I have had the upper skin of my throat feel to me like sore crackled skin , but not for a while.

Its mainly an ache.

Its almost impossible to tell your doc everything.

Last week I went in there with a list of symptoms ( funnily enough I cant remember mentioning this one)

She has been good to suggest I see a rhumatologist, but other than that hasnt listed to my h eart or taken any urine sample which I found odd.

I have now asked for a urine sample .

You know probably how it is , I feel like I cant just sit here waiting to see a Rhumatologist every 2 - 3 months so I have to fill the space with getting something done or answers.

As ususal I wrtie to much:wink2:

Kind thanks

Nicky

Nicky,

You are not alone, I have had this now for a few weeks. Lower Neck and very top of chest is sore and has a fullness feel to it. If I breathe deeply the fullness feeling gets worse, but the dull ache never really goes away.

Doctors have no clues :worried:
All checks for heart, lungs are clear. It's been put down to muscle and tendon inflammation at the mo, am on celebrex (antiiflammatory) but no help.

Just another cross to bear I suppose...

If you come up with an answer let me know...

Hi,

Nice to meet you. All the best with your appointment in December:blush:

I sometimes get an ache in my throat/neck like you describe, although I can't say if it is the same thing of course. I suspect my problem is muscular - from the muscles of the neck that are in front of the throat. They hurt a bit if I massage them (tricky to do:hehe: ).

Have you had your thyroid function checked. That is probably worth doing, especially as some symptoms of SLE and hyppothyroidism are the same.

All the best,
