i had recently asked about the possiblity of sjorgens because my eyes, nose and mouth are dry. but in the past few days when i take a bite of a sandwich or a rice cake or something i drool out of the right side. it gets to my chin. i don't know if it's super quick or i just don't notice til then.
but this is getting embarrasing.
and how can my mouth be so dry and then i'm drooling??
it just doesn't seem possible, but yet....
any thoughts?
thanks
lesley

Oh my gosh, another drooler!

Yes, quite embarrassing! I know mine is due to my scleroderma affecting the muscles and tendons in my face and microstomia (small mouth)

I can't close my mouth around my sonic toothbrush anymore and well you can imagine the mess - sorry.

Sorry I don't have any answers for you. Maybe it helps to know you're not the only drooler in this bunch?

Keep your napkins handy:lol: as well as your sense of humor....

Love, Barefut

the worst is drooling in public and not realising it, I don't know what causes it. I don't really feel it tell it hits my chin. very embrassing

Hi lesley

I have a very dry mouth, nose and eyes as well, I've noticed the last 3 weeks, I'm either drooling or have too much saliva. I have no idea what causes this, it will be interesting to hear other replies, someone is sure to know what is going on......

Hugs Jude:)

Well, I'm not in any way close to sure, but I swear I can remember reading something about blocked or plugged salivary ducts/glands with Sjögren's syndrome...if you have a blocked one (which would contribute to a dry mouth) and then it unblocks you could definitely have some drooling action.
And eating could definitely be something that would get saliva flowing and help to unblock a gland.

I drool sometimes when I'm sleeping, but sadly, I don't think I can blame that on anything. I'm just gross. :wink2:

wow!!
i was actually not sure whether or not to post that question.
i was afraid i was the only one. and since it seemed so weird, ya know!
thanks so much for sharing your drooling experiences!!
even though we don't know why this happens (yet) at least we're not alone. and i don't feel like a loser for not being able to keep my saliva in mouth! :)
thanks again! i'm going to do a little research and maybe find a reason!
i am so glad this site exists!!!!
