Sadly Jane I know where you coming from. i spoke to My Rheum about this a week Friday, as its gettign Worse. Told its related to my Lupus and he says that many Lupies complain of this. Mine got so bad. I had to stop driving last year. :( I kept getting confused even over what was left or right. I been given a Free Bus pass. I been told recently I have CNS Lupus, so I meant to ask him if is is connected to that. I think he meant over all that lupus of any kind can affect the memory. I hate being in conversation I forget What I was someone tells me or I was talking about. I also have a condition called Audio processing Disorder, which also affect Hearing and memory, so makes the whole thing even worse. I do suggest you should have a chat with your specialist. I have recently started a few workshops. on massages and things that interest me, art and craft etc. My Rheum told me its important to keep the brain busy, good for memory and stress.
You not alone with this one
Best wishes

Hi, Jane! ;)
I agree that this is important enough to get its own doc appointment. Anytime a new symptom pops up, it's a good idea to get it thoroughly checked out. If it continues at least you'll know what you're dealing with and there is always the possibility of help and hope for it to resolve.
Thinking is something not to be taken lightly. A neurologist would be the kind of specialist you'd see for thinking difficulties.
I hope you're able to get more information and some help for these difficult symptoms.
Angela :)

My memory is really bad too, i've done the thing about giving out the wrong number, and i keep going the wrong way while driving (e.g. The other day i was meant to be going to school and ended up at a friend's house because i'd forgotten where i was meant to be going, i keep ending up at this friend's house, everytime i forget where i'm going). Then i forget words in the middle of sentences or the topic i had been talking on.

Hi Jane.
At least they were honest with you :rotfl:
That next appointment should come up fast. I don't know about the anti meds as to upping it thinking it was that? That is confusing to me. The pain meds well will help with your pain. I hope that your appointment in December goes well and until then try to hang in there. I write notes to help me remember things - but you have to remember to look at the notes which I don't do !! :hehe:
P.S. I am ok - thank you for thinking of me when you are going through so much yourself.

Up your anti-deppressants, now where have I heard that Before. My Rheum was the only one who told me that Lupus affects the brain and depression is not always the cause. That was good enough answer for me. I too am on anti-depressants. Good luck with your appointment Jane

Hiya,
I have this whole memory thing happening too, but really I'm not supprised ... between the pain, lifestyle changes, meds (doses, numbers of and changes in ) to get through each day, ...really somethings gonna give  <--- I can laugh in the mood I'm in right now, but depending on what I forget and the mood I'm in it can scare and or devistate me...
a month ago there abouts i didn;t want to fall asleep before picking up my son in case I turned off my alarm and kept sleeping etc... ...woke up4:30pm an hour after I was ment to get him because a friend had rang!!! and I was FREAKING!!!! ... until my son ran out of his room to see what the fuss was all about :rotfl: ...I had got him and THEN had my nap, but lost all that time in between!!! I seem to have nights where if I forget one major thing there is at least one more to follow it and thats scary! It's not often that bad though :)
Double check things and do what ever you need to do to help you feel secure in mind and tasks ... and try and be happy in knowing you ARE doing all you can
Take special care,
Mandy
