I am running a fever of 99.6 off and on. This is new to me. I have read when people are in a flare they run fevers. I am in pain everyday and the fatigue is overwhelming, but running a fever is new. So I asked you, how high ? Do some of you keep a fever, if so how high?
Thanks in advance for the info.

Fevers are fairly new to me, too. My "normal" body temperature is right around 98.0 and I run between 99.1 and 99.5 with a fever. My fevers come and go very erratically throughout the day. I can literally go from 97.8 to 99.4 to 98.1 in 20 minutes.
I have had a fever just about every day for the last three months, especially clustered around mid-morning and mid-afternoon.

If I get a fever during a flare it usually hits in the afternoon. I am normally around 97 and it goes up to around 100. It isn't a huge spike, just enough to make you uncomfortable.
Hope you feel better soon,

when the Lupus kicks in, I run between 100 and 101. I should say that I am very prone to high fevers though, a cold or flu or strep I can easily hit 104 in very little time. I've been that way since childhood. Even my normal temp is a bit high at 99.:)
My normal temp is 97.5 or so; when I have a "lupus fever" it will be 100 give or take half a degree either way. The fever can last 2 weeks.... & my "regular" lupus symptoms are definitely at least a little bit worse during a fever of this magnitude.
Also occasionally get higher fevers, up to 102, but I do not beleive these to be associated with or due to the lupus. They only last 2 days or so; and have had 3 or 4 in the last year. These higher fevers are associated with extreme stiffness, joint pain, and chills as well as an inability to do anything beyond move from bed to lazy boy to bathroom... with a fridge visit or two a day too. Must be a viral infection, or acute bacterial infection for these fevers.
I hope yours makes a disappearing act soon!

My normal is 97.5 and I sometimes get 99.5 or 99.9 etc. when I am not feeling well. However before Plaquenil it was like 100.6 or so.
